semiconductor parts five axis machining processing

Not all materials can be processed precisely for semiconductor parts processing. Some materials are too hard and may break the parts if they exceed the hardness of the processing parts.
What are the precautions for materials in semiconductor parts processing?

Not all materials can be processed precisely for semiconductor parts processing. Some materials are too hard and may break the parts if they exceed the hardness of the processing parts. Therefore, these materials are not suitable for precision machining, unless they are made of special materials or cut by laser.

There are two major categories of materials for precision mechanical parts processing: metal materials and non-metal materials.

For metal materials, stainless steel has the highest hardness, followed by cast iron, copper, and finally aluminum.

The processing of ceramics, plastics, etc. belongs to the processing of non-metal materials.

    1. First of all, there is the requirement for material hardness. For some occasions, the higher the hardness of the material, the better. It is only limited to the hardness requirements of the processing parts. The processed material cannot be too hard. If it is harder than the parts, it cannot be processed.

    2. Secondly, the material should be moderately soft and hard, at least one level lower than the hardness of the parts. At the same time, it depends on what the function of the processed device is, and the material selection for the parts should be reasonable.

In short, precision machining still has some requirements for materials. Not all materials are suitable for machining. For example, materials that are too soft or too hard do not need to be machined, while the latter cannot be machined.
