What are the key elements of aerospace parts processing?

Aerospace parts processing Aerospace itself belongs to the precision industry, so there are strict requirements for the processing of its parts.
It is understood that high-quality parts processing needs to meet five key elements. What are the specific elements? Let‘s analyze them one by one.

    1. Materials

When processing parts for the aerospace field, the main challenge is to purchase and select suitable materials. The aerospace field has high requirements for the raw materials of parts, and even requires the use of high-temperature resistant alloys or special metals, such as high-grade nickel, Inconel alloy, monel alloy and titanium.

The hardness and heat absorption properties of these materials enable aerospace equipment to smoothly pass through the earth‘s atmosphere on the way to outer space.

However, the characteristics of these materials themselves also make it very difficult to process. Once improper processing occurs, the finished product may not meet the requirements. For example, when processing nickel-based alloys, it is easy to cause wear of processing tools.

    2. Tolerance

For the aerospace industry, a little error may cause a serious accident. Therefore, in order to ensure the safety of the equipment flight, the error margin is relatively small. When processing parts, there should be no large errors in precision and accuracy. Some components are installed in a very small space. Once the tolerance is too large, the parts cannot be installed.

    3. Inspection

Due to the highly regulated nature of the aerospace industry, the quality and inspection standards of the parts used are also quite strict. The parts produced must be certified by the relevant departments.

    4. Quality

Parts with unqualified quality will inevitably affect the normal use of aerospace equipment. Therefore, the parts shipped from the factory are generally required to be of qualified quality.

    5. Packaging

We know that the parts used in the aerospace field are relatively special, and some parts even have a certain degree of sharpness on the edges, so there should be no ambiguity in packaging. Many parts need to be specially packaged according to the size and characteristics of the parts. The packaging used should allow the parts to reach the user safely. Once the parts are scratched, make abnormal sounds, bumped, etc. during transportation, they will affect the normal use of the parts.

When packaging parts, try to use standard packaging such as egg cartons, or even special pallets or other custom packaging materials. Also be careful when shipping and handling to avoid damage to parts.
